Brothers 1.Kermit Taylor - 2.Reginald Abrams - 3.David McDaniel - 4.John "Juice" Flemming Ω - 5.Warren Simmons will forever be know as the Maginficent 5. Five young men that had the vision, heart, courage and testicular fortitude to charter the Mu Lambda chapter. Brother Abrams became the Chapter’s first Basileus and Brother Taylor became the first Keeper of Records and Seal. The neophytes shared the responsibilities of Dean of Pledges.

The Mu Lambda Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was chartered on December 17, 1977. Since its founding, the chapter has played a significant role in shaping both the history of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and the broader Monroe community. In the early 2000s, Northeast Louisiana University—home to the Mu Lambda Chapter—became the University of Louisiana at Monroe, marking a new era of growth and opportunity. Today, the Mu Lambda Chapter continues to thrive, remaining steadfast in its commitment to community uplift, leadership development, and the principles of Omega Psi Phi.
